Feeding the Baby at Dark

Some time ago, this little owlet fell out of its nest, and the park ranger placed it on a nearby tree. Since then, the owl parents have taken on even more responsibility. Not only do they continue to care for the other chicks in the nest, but they haven’t abandoned this one that fell out.

Usually, the father is in charge of security. There are lots of people walking their dogs in the park, and the father often has to chase away dogs that get too close to the owlet—especially those not on a leash, which he will directly attack.

I’ve always wondered whether this owlet is getting enough to eat and whether it can survive. It wasn’t until I finally captured a video of the mother feeding it after sunset that I felt at ease.

After this baby owl fell from the nest, it was placed on a nearby tree by the park ranger. The owl parents did not abandon it. The father was responsible for security, and the mother would bring food to the tree to feed it.

But this time, the mother did not have the patience to wait for it to finish eating. I guess it was because there were other babies in the nest that needed to be taken care of, so the mother took the food away and flew back to the nest.

But don’t worry, in less than ten minutes, the father brought it another big mouse, but the light was too dark at the time and it was impossible to record it . It is currently growing well and is already flapping its wings to prepare for flight. There are also a lot of poops and pellets under the tree. It is doing great.
